SMOK Morph 2 Review

When it comes to talking about vapes, it is hard not to mention SMOK. The company is known for its kits and tanks, and it has risen to the status of stardom since it first released the extraordinary tank TFV4. They have recently launched the successor to the SMOK Morph 219, the ‘SMOK Morph 2’.

The Morph 2 is one of SMOK’s best mods to date. Its high-grade quality is the talk of the town. It comes in a nice big old box that contains the kit with a bunch of other things. You will get a USB-C cable, a massive coil head, a spare bubble glass tube, a couple of information cards, a user guide, a TFV18 tank (TFV-Mini V2 in the UK and EU), some extra seals and O-rings in a zip-lock bag, and of course, the Morph 2 mod.

Below is a detailed review of SMOK Morph 2 with its design, specifications, features, and everything that makes it unique from the others.

Design & Appearance

Screen

The first noticeable thing on the mod is its vogue-looking screen. It is situated on the surface of one side of the mod surrounded by a frame. Though the body of the vape is rectangular, the metal frame surrounding the screen between the torso of the mod is shaped in a way that makes it appear almost like an hourglass. It enhances the look of the mod and makes the screen more striking and visible. The screen is 0.96 inches. It has a TFT-LCD display that assists the users with an effortless experience while managing and adjusting the settings.

The screen displays resistance, power, temperature, puff counter, time, charging, and selected working mode.

Body

Not going to lie; its body blew me away. I mean, who is the mastermind behind SMOK, designing all these vapes? They have gone all out with the two-faced coverage. The body is made up of zinc alloy and has flexible leather on the sides.

The mod has an overall brushed look. It catches the eye because of its unique combination of colours. The stainless steel tank adds a hint of sheen to the overall structure.

Dimensions

Morph 2 mod is 88 millimetres in length and 47.5 millimetres in width. Its thickness is about 31.7 millimetres. Whatever the dimensions, it fits in hand smoothly and weighs only 133.5 grams.

Tank

The TFV-Mini V2 (aka the TFV8 Baby V2) tank is 54 millimetres high, and 25.4 millimetres wide, and it weighs only 65 grams. It is made up of stainless steel, which adds a bit of beauty to the mod. The tank features a 510 connector, so it should be cross-compatible with most of your devices.

Colour Me Impressed!

The Morph 2 comes in eight different colors to choose from, which is an excellent element. The shades include:

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Red
  • Brown
  • Prism Rainbow
  • White Blue
  • White Red
  • Black Carbon Fibre

My personal favourite one is the Prism Rainbow but there’s something I really love about the White Red version. The back of the kit has this almost retro style to it that captures my attention whenever I see it. Maybe that’s just me though.

Features & Specifications

Coils

The EU TPD version of the kit comes with the TFV-Mini V2/TFV8 Baby V2 tank. While this tank is compatible with a huge number of coils, the Morph 2 version comes pre-installed with a V2 S1 0.15 Ohm Single Mesh Coil. There’s also a spare V2 A2 0.2 Ohm Dual Mesh coil in the box.

So how do they compare?

The V2 S1 coil is rated at 40W – 80W. I found that the coil produced best flavour at 60W – 70W. The flavour was excellent and not to intense.

The V2 A2 coil is rated at 70W – 120W. The vapour from this was a little hotter than I expected but the flavour and vapour production were really excellent.

Chipset

The SMOK Morph 2 has an IQ-S chip that ensures robust performance by the mod and an instant firing time of about 0.001 seconds.

Battery

The SMOK Morph 2 is powered with the help of two external 18650 rechargeable batteries. They utilize a maximum of 2A of current to charge up. The type-C charging cable quickly charges the mod. Both the batteries are charged together and are utilized equally thanks to it’s power balancing system. This feature keeps you safe from the hassle of changing batteries again and again as it enhances their life.

What the Buttons Do

On Morph 2 mod, the control buttons are given under the screen, and the fire button is on the side of the body.

  • Just like almost all vapes, five clicks of the fire button turn your mod on.
  • Three clicks of the fire button can let you change the mode from Power to TC. Three clicks again will turn the option off.
  • Furthermore, one click will take you to adjust resistance. Another click can take you to adjust voltage and then puff-counter.
  • Holding the control buttons together will lock the settings.

Modes

  1. Power Mode
    • This mode can utilize a maximum of 230W power. We choose to adjust it according to our requirements between 1 to 230 watts.
  2. TC Mode
    • The TC mode is divided into three modes. It allows you to customize wattage and resistance according to your taste. It’s perfect for getting more control over how your mod works based on your setup.

Safety Features

The SMOK Morph 2 mod comes with seven different safety features to ensure a secure and protected experience. The company has installed these features for the well-being of their potential clients. These include:

  • 8 second cut off
  • Atomizer detection
  • Overheating protection
  • Short circuit protection.
  • Low-battery warning
  • Reverse polarity protection
  • Over-discharge protection

Verdict

Pros

  • Plenty of safety features
  • Compact size
  • Instant firing speed
  • The screen quality and visibility are good
  • Durable body design
  • TFV-Mini V2 tank is one of SMOK’s best

Cons

  • Definitely for intermediate to advanced vapers

Conclusion

SMOK Morph 2 has made a stir just as the company claims ever since it came out. The hype it has been getting is entirely understandable. It surely deserves the spot it has. This mod has added another ounce of admiration for the already popular vape manufacturing company SMOK. The only downside is that it’s best features aren’t suitable for beginners.
